Two Sector 48 students arrested for sexually harassing woman, daughters at Elante Mall

The Chandigarh police have ar rested two students in an alleged sexual harassment case. The incident took place at Elante Mall in the industrial area here on Sunday night when a couple and their two daughters had gone there to watch a movie.

The police arrested Anjot Singh, a resident of Hanumangarh in Rajasthan and his friend Himmat Singh, a resident of Muktsar. Antoj is a law student and Himmat Singh is a student of DAV College in Sector 10.

The accused stay in sector 48 in city. Both were booked for molestation, causing hurt and criminal intimidation and the case was registered at the industrial area police station.

It all happened on Sunday night when a person along with his wife and two daughters had gone to Elante Mall to watch a movie at 8.30 pm.

The sources said that Antoj and Himmat Singh started misbehaving and putting their feet on the chair occupied by the girls. The girls i niti al ly ignored but later objected and asked them to maintain distance.

The students continued and again touched the girls with their feet. A heated argument ensued following which the students threatened the family with dire consequences.

According to police, the drama continued outside the hall, during which the two students allegedly slapped the minor daughter of the couple. The victims gave a complaint in writing against the accused, following which they were immediately arrested and non-bailable offence registered against them.
