Two women, girl allege harassment in three separate case

In three separate incidents on Tuesday, two women and a girl alleged that miscreants in the city harassed them. In the first incident, a woman alleged that Dharminder, a resident of Burail, passed lewd comments at her, apart from trying to forcibly enter her house.

In three separate incidents on Tuesday, two women and a girl alleged that miscreants in the city harassed them.

In the first incident, a woman alleged that Dharminder, a resident of Burail, passed lewd comments at her, apart from trying to forcibly enter her house. A case has been registered under sections 452 (for house-trespass after preparation for hurt) and 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Sector 11 police station. The accused has been arrested.

In a separate incident, a woman alleged that two miscreants, Sharanjeet Singh and Shital Singh, harassed her. The police have registered a case under sections 354-A (sexual harassment), 354-D (stalking and word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the IPC at Industrial Area police station.

In another incident, 35-year-old Suresh Kumar, a resident of Mauli Jagran, was arrested for passing lewd comments at a 16-year-old girl. Kumar had allegedly called up the girl and had stalked her. A case has been registered under sections 354-D and 506 of the IPC and Section 12 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act at Manimajra police station.
