Two women killed as canter overturns

Two women were killed and 15 others injured when a canter overturned near Abholi village of the district on Sunday night. The accident occurred when the driver of the canter, carrying nearly 25 people of Rajasthan, lost control over the vehicle while trying to save a bike rider near the village.

Two women were killed and 15 others injured when a canter overturned near Abholi village of the district on Sunday night. The accident occurred when the driver of the canter, carrying nearly 25 people of Rajasthan, lost control over the vehicle while trying to save a bike rider near the village.


The deceased were identified as Saraswati Devi, 42, and Somwati Devi, 44. Of the 15 injured, five were in a critical condition. All injured were admitted to the civil hospital here.

The victims, who belonged to Manaksarpur village of Hanumangarh district in Rajasthan, were returning from Ottu village of Sisra district after attending the 'namkaran' ceremony of a child.
