With erratic garbage collection, stray cattle roaming around, overgrown hedges and construction debris, Phases 3B1 and 3B2, like many other parts of the city, fare poorly on the cleanliness front.
However, according to residents, a distinction here is that the SAS Nagar municipal corporation (MC) authorities have started tidying up the green stretches. While residents claim to be willing to help spruce up the place, they expect cooperation from the authorities as well.
In the absence of dustbins and regualr garbage collection facilities, they tend to dump waste on roadsides. In addition, those who walk their pets in parks seem to have no qualms over using these public spaces as open toilets for their animals.
Stray cattle can be found grazing on parks and other green patches leading to the problem of dung. Overgrown hedges and dried leaves piled up on roadsides give an unkempt appearance to the place.
