The Haryana government on Friday extended the period for filing applications from unauthorised occupants for transfer of land in their possession under Haryana Evacuee Properties (Management and Disposal) Rules, 2011 to April 30.

Earlier, the last date for filing applications was January 31.

An official spokesperson said in a release on Friday that earlier, the period of three months from November 1, 2013, to January 31, 2014, was granted as an opportunity for making application by the eligible persons.

However, on re-examination of the case, it was realised that the period of three months was too less as compared to the land left with the state as evacuee property for which applications were to be made, he said and added that thus, the government had further extended the period to another three months.
