UT finance-cum-education secretary VK Singh released a book, “Bhartiya Itihas Kosh” by Dr Prashant Gaurav at UT secretariat here on Thursday.

After releasing the book, Singh said, “In this age of science and technology and materialism, humans day by day are becoming materialistic, ambitious and forgetting the glorious history and culture of their ancestors. Books like this must be written to revive and reveal various aspects of Indian history keeping in view the greater interest of students, scholars as well as teachers. It will also serve in a great way to the academic curiosity of the people who have interest in history, particularly Indian history.”
Congratulating the writer, Kumar said there was a need to cultivate the habit of writing books among teachers, only then they could justify their position.
Sharma talked about the increase in facilities for students and teachers in government colleges and said today they could match any other institution of the region and the teachers should make the best use of these facilities to improve their skills.
