The anti-human trafficking unit of the local police are organising a fortnight-long self-defence training for employees of Infosys.

The programme, which was inaugurated by UT inspector general of police (IGP) RP Upadhyaya on August 1, is aimed at enabling girls and women to save themselves in untoward incidents. It will be conducted by the Chandigarh police officials. A total of 15 woman cops of traffic police have also joined the camp for self-defence training.

Participants are being trained on protecting themselves from sexual harassment, chain snatching, knife and stick attack, front fall, body hold and neck hold.

Earlier, similar training sessions were held in colleges in June this year.
