UT workers yet to get shelter under housing scheme move HC

A group of about 264 unsuccessful applicants of UT employees Housing Scheme-2008, on Tuesday, have moved Punjab and Haryana high court seeking directions for the Chandigarh administration to take immediate step to consider the demand of house in time-bound manner. Before this, another group of unsucessful applicants of UT workers had also move HC recently.

A writ petition has also been filed in the name of Rakesh Kumar in this regard.

Raj Kumar Batish, president of Committee of Unsuccessful Applicants, UT Employees Housing Scheme-2008, said, "It is a matter of fact that employees of Chandigarh administration and their families are frustrated, dissatisfied and apprehensive of their fate as they are not being provided shelters by the UT administration as per their commitments under this scheme. Numerous requests in shape of memorandum have been submitted to the administration from time to time but to no avail."

The unsuccessful applicants of UT employees Housing Scheme-2008 appealed to the Chandigarh administration to take up this legitimate demand on priority to maintain justice.
