Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president and Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Friday asserted that Haryana Jan Chetna Party (HJCP) chief Venod Sharma was directly responsible for the neglect of this constituency as he failed to perform as a legislator despite being de-facto chief minister of the state for a long time.

The SAD president, who had held series of election meetings at Kathgarh, Rasulpur, Nalyola, Bhanokheri, Jandli, Layalput Basti, Jagadhri Gate and Baldev Nagar camp in Ambala City in support of SAD candidate Balwinder Singh Punia also urged people not to be fooled by the new party floated by Sharma.

“Hooda Sahab and Venod Sharma are hand in glove and HJCP has been formed only to confuse people,” he added.

Sukhbir said the SAD would work for the development of Ambala after its candidate Punia was elected, as SAD and INLD have special relationship.

Highlighting the Congress “misrule”, the SAD president said Hooda only served the interests of the Gandhi family. Senior SAD leaders, including Prem Singh Chandumajra, Balwant Singh Ramoowalia and Bibi Jagir Kaur also spoke on the occasion.
