Venue fixed for Pb MLAs to cast vote for Presidential election

The Election Commission of India has fixed the committee room-'A' of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha Secretariat, Chandigarh to conduct Presidential poll.

The Election Commission of India has fixed the committee room-'A' of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha Secretariat, Chandigarh to conduct Presidential poll.


It will take place between 1000 hrs to 1700 hrs on July 19, for electing members of the Punjab legislative assembly.

"Any elected member of the Punjab legislative assembly, specially permitted by the EC, can cast his/her vote at the place of polling in room no-63, Parliament House, New Delhi or any other state headquarter," secretary, Punjab Vidhan Sabha said.

He further stated that if any elected member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly was interested to cast his/her vote at New Delhi or any other state headquarter, then prescribed form could be taken from the secretary, Punjab Vidhan Sabha who is assistant returning officer, for Presidential Election.

Option once made by electors, would be final and no change of mind would be allowed by the commission, the officer added.
