Vijay Anand is city chemists body chief

Vijay Anand was elected new president of the Chandigarh Chemist Association during an election held at Community Centre, Panjab University, Sector 25, here on Sunday.

Anand won elections with 320 votes and defeated Khem Gupta, who got 168 votes, by a huge margin of 152 votes.

Ankush Grover defeated Kamaljeet Bains by a margin of 176 votes and became vice-president of the association. Vinay Jain was elected general secretary, while Ramesh Kumar Singla was chosen finance secretary. Pawan Kumar became joint secretary by securing 331 votes. The election was held in the presence of the observers from the Punjab State Chemists Association and All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists (AIOCD).The new team assured the members of maintaining the brotherhood among the association and timely and just resolution of all issues being faced by the chemists of Chandigarh.

Anand said the team would function in a transparent manner and would solve the problems of the chemists by taking up the issues with the authorities.
