Visually impaired from across the country to perform

National Association for the Blind will hold the fifth edition of the national dance competition for visually impaired individuals at the Tagore Theatre on November 8.

A total of 21 teams comprising 200 children from 13 states will participate in the event where Kirron Kher, Member of Parliament, Chandigarh, will be the chief guest and Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra will be the guest of honour.

In the group category, there will be 12 folk, eight free style and two classical dance performances, while the solo category will comprise seven classical dance performances.

The jury consists of Sneh Lata Badhwar, principal, Government College, Rupnagar; Sunita Sharma, head of department, music, Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Chandigarh and Swati Singhal, head of department, Home Science College, Chandigarh.

On the occasion, Amway Opportunity Foundation will present the AOF Young Achievers Award 2014 to five shortlisted individuals.
