Chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, who is contesting the assembly election from Garhi Sampla Kiloi, after filing his nomination at the mini-secretariat on Friday sought the electorate’s support to form government for the third time in a row.
If you have been satisfied with Congress’ ten-year regime in Haryana, vote for us, he urged the people. He was accompanied by Congress candidate from Rohtak Bharat Bhushan Batra, Kalanaur candidate Shakuntala Khatak, Rajya Sabha member Shadi Lal Batra.
Addressing supporters at Ambedkar Chowk here, Hooda lashed out political rivals – Indian National Lok Dal and Bharatiya Janata Party – and said that while one party’s CM candidate claimed that he would run the government from Tihar jail, the other party has no candidate for the coveted post.
Hooda, who is contesting election from Garhi Sampla Kiloi for the third consecutive time, urged voters to ask INLD candidates, when they came asking for support, if their ministers and MLAs would also go to jail to run the government.
In January 2013, INLD supremo OP Chautala was convicted in the 1999-2000 JBT recruitment scam. At the Jind rally on Thursday, to where he was flown in an airbus with a team of doctors, Chautala said he would take oath as CM from the jail if his party came to power.
Hooda continued his speech and said that if the people wanted to maintain the Jatland’s supremacy, then they should vote for Congress.
