Sudhir Kochar, who has been appointed as counting observer by the Election Commission of India (ECI) for Panchkula assembly constituency — which is part of the Ambala Lok Sabha seat, presided over a meeting of district officials to examine the arrangements for counting of votes.
Kochar got detailed information with respect to the arrangements made at Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) and Community Centre, Sector 14.
SS Phulia, district election officer-cum-deputy commissioner (DC), said votes would be counted in 13 phases. About six computers have been installed at the centre and nobody assigned for counting of votes would be allowed to carry mobile phone, pen, watch, ring etc. inside the centre.
Kochar will visit the centre at 11am and keep a tab on arrangements.
