The New Gurgaon constituency, which also includes DLF city — one of the most posh and highly educated constituencies, had raised eyebrows for a poor voter turnout both in 2009 and 2014.

It remains to be seen how the trend would be in these elections. While 2009 saw a very poor voter turnout, 2014 had seen a little improvement. These elections will show if the improvement was only restricted to Lok Sabha elections or the voters have made up their mind to cast their vote this time.

According to official data, the poll percentage during the 2009 assembly elections was 18, 29 and 19 respectively at the three polling stations (No.- 75, 76 and 78) of Sri Ram Public School in DLF 3.

Badshahpur assembly segme nt additional deputy commissioner-cum-returning officer PS Chauhan said that efforts were made to persuade residents of these areas to vote which helped improve poll percentage during Lok Sabha elections in May.

While poll percentage of 61, 61 and 62 was recorded during Lok Sabha polls this year, in 2009 assembly elections it was 40, 41 and 21 respectively.
