Appealing to the party's rank and file to fasten their belts for wiping out the present Bharatiya Janata Party government in the coming assembly elections, former union minister Virbhadra Singh on Sunday said that he would take the battle against Prem Kumar Dhumal and others to the logical end by launching a campaign to awaken the masses concerning the "misdeeds" of the government.

His party, after assuming power, would constitute special trial courts for speedy disposal of all the corruption and land deal related cases in the state.

Jubilant over the red carpet welcome accorded by his thousands of supporters at Parwanoo, Kumarhatti, Solan and Kandaghat in this district on Sunday, he said that since the BJP government had executed a large number of land sale deals in violation of the Land Reforms and Tenancy Act from Parwanoo to Narkanda, especially alongside the national highway, the Congress would order a probe and confiscate the properties.

The situation was no different in Dharamshala, Kullu and Manali and all other national highways across the state.
His supporters from across the district including a battery of sitting Congress MLAs and former legislators and ministers shouting slogans -Virbhadra tum age badho hum tumhare sath hain, Raja nahin faqir hai, and Himachal ki taqdir hai - forced him to address them at Parwanoo.

This was his first visit after tendering resignation as a union minister following the framing of corruption charges against him by a trial court, recently.

An emotional Virbhdra said, "I have constantly been tolerating the injustice being inflicted upon me by Dhumal and his coterie, but now the time has come to give a befitting reply as the water has started overflowing the head."

Expressing his gratitude to Sonia Gandhi, prime minister and central party high command including Birender Chaudhary for declaring him as the star campaigner, Singh said that since the countdown of the BJP government has started, the party would capture the power with a thumping majority.

"Remember, we have to ensure the ouster of corrupt, inefficient and anti-people BJP government by reducing its 'mission repeat' into 'mission defeat' to save this hilly state," he told party men.

He said that the fight against BJP would be taken to every nook and corner as the government's misdeeds have crossed all the limits. Political conspiracy being hatched against him and party men would be levelled with the ground as the law would take its own course.

Singh said that the growing influence of land and other mafias showed that the BJP government was shielding corrupt officials and leaders. Forests were being allotted to the BJP leader's kith and kin on the pretext of promoting eco-tourism.

"My job is to dismantle the BJP's forte in the state as this is not for the first time that Dhumal has attempted to implicate me in a false and fabricated case. Similar attempts have also been made in the past by ordering a CBI probe and vigilance enquiry into Sagar Katha case," Singh said.

He said since the high command has assigned him the responsibility of campaigning, he would soon finalise a detailed poll plan involving the rank and file of the party in each constituency. The poll plan would be discussed threadbare with the central leadership including Sonia Gandhi before its execution against the BJP.
