Winter training school under UGC networking programme concludes at PU

The one-week long winter training school under the University Grants Commission's (UGC) Networking Resource Centre in pharmaceutical sciences on 'Emerging tools and techniques in pharma research and innovation' conducted by University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), Panjab University, concluded at Golden Jubilee Seminar Hall, PU, on Saturday.

During the programme, speakersý with expertise in diverse disciplines of pharmaceutical sciences together with the in-house faculty of UIPS trained the participants from all over the country.

Resource persons from various academic institutions, research organisation's and industrial houses across the country deliberated upon various aspects of the theme.

UIPS chairman and programme coordinator Bhupinder Singh Bhoop in his welcome address exhorted the young participants towards strategies-oriented towards medical needs and technological breakthroughs.

Course coordinator OP Katare briefed about the antecedents of the week-long course providing excellent food-for-thought for tools and techniques towards innovative research.

During the valedictory programme, emeritus professor and former dean of university instructions SK Kulkarni delivered the lecture on 'Breakthrough Medicines that changed our lives'.

Feedback from the participants was also invited. Professor Anil Kumar, joint coordinator of the school, proposed the vote of thanks for the success of the Winter School.
