With overgrown bushes, paan stains, Mohali station screams neglect

With the Mohali railway station seeing fewer trains than the one in Chandigarh, the authorities seem to be lax about cleanliness as garbage was strewn in corners, and bushes grew near the seats meant for passengers.

The central part of the station which is covered by a shed has been maintained well. However, a large part of the station which is uncovered makes for a dismal picture with broken chairs, dirty and non-functional drinking water sink and wild growth.

Some of the chairs were surrounded by overgrown weeds which made it impossible for passengers to use it.

Cigarette butts and gutka stains can be found even as one enters the station. Broken bottles were also strewn on railway tracks. And there is a shortage of dustbins on the platform.

However, with the station being visited by only few passengers owing to limited trains from here, the washrooms were passable.
