Woman killed in Pinjore accident

A 35-year-old woman was crushed to death in a collision between a truck and an auto-rickshaw near Basola village in Pinjore on Sunday night.

The victim, Jagiro Devi, a resident of Pinjore, was travelling with her husband, who was driving the auto-rickshaw. As it collided with the truck, her husband fell out of the vehicle, while Devi got crushed inside it.

The police handed over the body to family members after the post-mortem examination.

"We have arrested the driver under section 304 A (causing death by negligence) and section 279 (rash driving) of the Indian Penal Code. He will be produced before the court on Tuesday," said inspector Lalit Kumar, station house officer, Pinjore police station.
