Rohtak Sisters’ Molestation Case

The video showed two sisters thrashing three boys who were boarded in the same bus. The sisters alleged that the boys were trying to physically harass them. The video, said to be uploaded by one of the co-passengers, went viral and gathered a lot of controversy. The incident was widely debated in the media, both print and electronic, and was in the news for several days.

Beas Tragedy

A tragedy in which 24 students, including six female and 18 male, of VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad drowned in Mandi district, Himachal Pradesh on 8 June 2014. beas tragedy While this incident was taking place, some of the local residents who were present at the distance shot the video. It portrays the general disdain on today’s youth who are obsessed with the social media millennial. It shows that how young generations crib about their life being hard even though they have all the luxuries in life.

J-K social welfare minister invoking religion for votes

On the series of controversial viral videos from the region, Jammu and Kashmir region didn’t lag behind. One of the videos that went viral in the month of April showed Jammu and Kashmir’s social welfare minister Sakina Itoo asking an old man to vote for her in the elections. In the video, she was seen saying, "I am like your daughter, you take oath with Quran in your hands that you will support in the elections like in the past. Meanwhile, the National Conference defended its party member saying that there is absolutely no wrong with it. We believe there was no violation of ‘Code of Conduct’.

Pledge To Vote With Mr Shyam Negi

A video pledging to vote with Shyam Saran Negi, 97, who is said to be the first Indian voter of Independent India who casted his first vote in the year 1951, went viral just before the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Since he is a true believer of democracy, no one else than he could be the inspiration for the young voters to come forward and cast vote and be a part of democratic system.
