Former cricketer Yograj Singh’s cousin Kuljeet Kaur on Thursday held a press conference at the Chandigarh press club where she alleged that the Panchkula police had been acting under pressure as it did not consider her charges of sexual harassment.
Deputy commissioner of police, Panchkula, Rahul Sharma, said, “We will add the relevant sections of sexual harassment after verifying them. We have also registered an FIR on her complaint.”
A clash took place between Yograj’s relatives and a retired DSP’s family on Sunday night in Sector 2 over parking issue. Yograj Singh and his relative Bhupinder Singh were arrested along with DSP Ashanand Narang and his two advocate sons Sunil and Sumit.
All of them are out on bail presently. Kaur alleged that in the clash she along with her daughter Tanya was also present and their clothes were torn apart and the other group was dragging her daughter for committing rape.
Her lawyer Hittan Nehra told mediapersons that he would move court for registration of FIR against the former DSP and his two sons for sexual harassment. Kaur, who is a UK citizen, showed her medical report along with that of her daughter Tanya and her son Aaron, which reflected that they had injuries and her clothes were torn.
They also made specific allegations against DCP Rahul Sharma of misuse of power.
On the other hand, Sunil Narang said, “They are making baseless allegations. They were five-six people there. Allegations of molestation or dragging their daughter for committing rape are being made to pressurise us and to scandalise the incident.”
He added, “Yograj had come with 14-15 people and had assaulted us. They made a trespass into my house.”
