Youth stabs two young girls in Thalout

A youth mercilessly stabbed two young girls in the broad daylight in Thalout area under Aut police station on Saturday morning.

The victims have been identified as Begu Devi (20) and Mathura Devi (20), both residents of Dhundhla Thachi village of Drang assembly segment in Mandi district. The girls were on their way to a computer institute at Thalout to attend their daily classes when a youth stopped them at Darudhar Nullah area and attacked them. He stabbed them in their stomach repeatedly.

The accused has been identified as Tej Ram of Sawahan Thachi village of Drang segment. Tej Ram is reportedly a close relative of both the victims.
A passerby helped the girls to rush to the Mandi zonal hospital. The doctors later referred Begu Devi to the Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla, in a serious condition.

Doctors at the Mandi hospital said that both the girls have received multiple stab injuries on their stomach whereas the intestines of Begu Devi were severely damaged. The condition of Mathura Devi was stated to be stable.

The Aut police have registered a case in this connection and dispatched three police teams to trace the accused. The motive behind the incident is yet to be known.
