It was a thoroughly clinical performance by India in the one-day series. There were no dramatics, no heart-in-the-mouth stuff as MS Dhoni and his boys completed another whitewash against England.

I say another, because the scoreline was also 5-0 when England last toured India in 2008. From that context, very little has changed this time, but looking at what happened in England a couple of months back, this was a very good victory for a young India side.

It is inevitable that the team would carry scars after the England series, even if most of the guys in this one-day team were not a part of the Test series that India lost 0-4.

It is heartening to see Ravindra Jadeja's growth as a cricketer. Compared to when he came into the Indian team, he is more consistent with his bowling, and he doesn't throw his wicket away. It goes without saying that the more opportunities he gets, the better he will become. Ashwin came through well, and I am sure Harbhajan will come back into the scheme of things against the Windies.

Although we have a Test and ODI series coming up against the West Indies, I don't see them challenging India in Indian conditions. The goal, therefore, is to look ahead with one eye on the Australian tour coming up in December.
