All of 5'8", Nikita wasn't Anand sure if she ever wanted to be a part of tinsel town.
After Vikram Bhatt's Life Mein Kabhi Kabhi and Dil Dosti etc, which will release this week, the Delhi-based model has finally decided to concentrate on a career in films.
So much so that the Miss India 2003 has even bought a flat in suburban Malad. "It was getting a bit difficult for me.. shuttling between Delhi and Mumbai every now and then. So, I invested in a house here," she says.
Her mother has moved with her too. "My dad, Colonel S S Anand, is in the army. So, it's not possible for him to shift base too," she adds.
Before taking up acting, Anand attended several workshops in Delhi and trained in kathak for over a year. "Before the shooting for Dil, Dosti etc began, we attended a workshop for over a month. I'm confident now.. and curious to know how the audience reacts to my performance," she enthuses.
She signed Dil, Dosti etc last February. And going by the promos, according to her, the response has been positive.
Has she got any other offers so far?
"Not yet. But I'm optimistic. Since I've shifted to Mumbai, I'll be more accessible. That will work in my favour," she chirps.
Apart from films, Anand is also busy anchoring television shows. "I've stopped walking the ramp. But I love hosting television shows and intend to continue till I get really busy with films," she signs off.
