In a big panchayat held in Mohammadpur Raising village on Sunday, the khap chaudharies expressed their resentment over the biased action of the police and said they stood united against any atrocity by the administration.
They also decided to court arrest on November 15 to protest against frequent police raids in villages.
Chaudharies of all the 35 khaps were invited to the panchayat and and most of them attended the meeting. Harikishan Singh Malik of Gathwala Khap presided over the panchayat.
Earlier, the panchayat discussed how to bridge the rift between the Hindu and Muslim communities.
But later, the discussion veered towards biased police action against one community.
Most of the speakers alleged that police were trying to destroy the future of village youths preparing for competitions, by falsely implicating them in the riot cases.
They said all the 35 khaps wanted peace in the area but the administration should take the initiative and institute fair probe.
The Khap Chaudharies decided to court arrest at the district headquarters on November 15 to protest against frequent police raids in villages to arrest innocent persons falsely named in riot cases.
BKU chief Naresh Tikait said that it was better to offer arrest than to face police raids.
