After the Delhi high court have the go-ahead for the removal of the Sirhaul toll plaza on the Delhi-Gurgaon border, the ministry of road transport and highways issued a notification, doubling the toll rate at the second toll plaza at Kherki Daula.

While people commuting between Delhi and Gurgaon will no more have to pay toll, the ministry has made provisions to allow the lenders or the substitute concessionaire to collect an enhanced toll at KM-42, better known as the Kherki Daula toll plaza, by combining the rates of the two toll plazas.

The ministry has also made room for another hike in the toll rate keeping in mind the withheld revision pending for the past two years as provided in the concession agreement. The escalation is made on the basis of the wholesale price index (WPI).

Now, a car will have to pay Rs 56, which will be a combination of Rs 27 for Kherki Daula, Rs 21 for Sirhaul and Rs 4 as the hike on both the rates.

However, the local traffic rates and discounts will remain as earlier applicable at Kherki Daula. Those commuting between Manesar and Gurgaon will be allowed to avail the discounts available to the local traffic.
