Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been requested to form another commission to look into how freedom movement hero Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose disappeared during an escape flight in 1945.Netaji Subhas Kranti Manch has written to Modi, demanding that he also accepts the Mukherjee Commission report that looked into the mystery before.“This commission of inquiry was appointed by the previous NDA (National Democratic Alliance) government led by Atal Behari Vajpaee,” Manch president VP Saini wrote to Modi, adding: “It concluded that Netaji did not die in any air crash and the ashes preserved in a Japanese temple were not his.”During a discussion in Parliament on the report, all important leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had supported the Mukherjee Commission findings, wrote Saini, claiming that the last UPA (United Progressive Alliance) government had rejected the report without assigning any reason. Now since the NDA was back in power, it should accept the report without delay, Modi was requested. “The country should know what happened to Netaji ultimately. Was there a conspiracy not to let him return to independent India? Was then prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru and the Congress involved in that plot, directly or indirectly? Was it an international conspiracy? If, yes, which were the countries involved what were their motives?” are the questions raised in the letter.Saini said it was time to set up another commission of inquiry to get all the answers. He also demanded a memorial raised to Bose’s Indian National Army (INA) at Red Fort in Delhi.
