Pune dairy owner attacked, killed over unpaid bills

A dairy businessman was killed by two people, identified as identified as Kunal Randive and Sagar Giri, on Sunday night near a petrol pump in Ambegaon Budrukh. The man was killed over unpaid bills, the Bharati Vidyapeeth police said.
The police are on the lookout for the two accused, also reported to be in the dairy business.
The deceased has been identified as Balasaheb Vamanrao Patil, 37, a resident of an area near Ram Mandir in Narhe region on the outskirts of Pune city, assistant police inspector (API) SP Yadav, who is investigating the case, said.
The incident happened at 10pm on Sunday near Shaheed Colonel Prakash Patil petrol pump situated along the Katraj bypass.
The deceased owed the two men ₹1 lakh, according to the preliminary investigation by the Bharati Vidhyapeeth police. The two men supplied paneer to the dairy run by Patil in Manaji Nagar, also in the Narhe area.
“They attacked him with a sickle on his neck, head and hand. We are investigating the whereabouts of the two men,” API Yadav said on Monday afternoon.
A case under Section 302 for murder, 34 for common intent of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 4(25) of Arms Act has been registered at the Bharati Vidyapeeth police station. The body was sent to Sassoon General hospital for a post-mortem. The complaint in the case was filed by Patil’s wife, Alka Balasaheb Patil, 37.
