Three dead, 10 injured in road accident

Varanasi: Three persons, including two women, died while 10 others sustained injuries when a four-wheeler collided head-on with a truck while trying to overtake another vehicle in Robertsganj on Wednesday morning.

According to report, Nirmal Soni, a resident of Anpara, was returning home with his family from Chunar after holding the marriage ceremony of his daughter. As their SUV reached a bridge in Robertsganj, the driver tried to overtake a truck. However, in this process, the SUV collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction. 

Nirmal (45), Preeti (35), Devanti and 10 others sustained severe injuries in the accident. They were rushed to the hospital where Nirmal, Prabhavati and Satyanarayan’s wife were pronounced dead. Urmila, Naitik, Dolly, Ravishankar and Devanti, who had sustained grievous injuries, were referred to Varanasi after primary treatment.
