I believe very strongly that this India side has the capability to bounce back and win two matches on the trot. Having said that, I know it’s a difficult proposition because this Pakistan side is very committed. But, still, there are a few things, which, if executed properly, may give India the necessary edge.
The India openers will need to show more resolve, so that the base prepared by them can be utilised by the middle-order. Both Viru and Gautam are class players and this is the time for them to put their hands up and be counted. They will need to be patient and selective.
India will have to do away with the practice of utilising part-time spinners as the fifth bowler. They would rather do well by playing Jadeja, as he is a regular spinner and is good with the bat too.
As far as the batting is concerned, Dhoni stands tall and he is in excellent touch. But he needs to show a bit more flair in captaincy. True, he has a young fast-bowling unit and his spinners are not helping his cause, but Dhoni has to think of making them do something different and make it difficult for Pakistan.
