Whether or not you are a gizmo freak, there are a few gadgets that are a must-carry whenever you are travelling.  We speak to five travel buffs who tell us their favourite gadget that they carry along every time they travel and why they think that no holiday is complete for them without their little electronic buddy.

Shawar Ali, Model and Actor: "I always carry my MP3/I-Pod with me when I travel. This little piece can surely be termed as my best pal. Whether I want to start my voyage on a melodious note or want to avoid the irritating snore of a co-passenger sitting next to me an MP3 or an I-pod serves the purpose. I update my playlist with Kishore Kumar's classics and gazals by Jagjit Singh. When you travel, all you need is some peace of mind and shrug off the daily hassles of life."

Things to keep in mind: Any i Pod will do well; just make sure that you have enough free space to update the playlist before you set out. It's a good idea to go for IPod touch, which is an iPhone without the phone and the biggest advantage is that you can access internet anywhere through Wi-Fi.

Cyrus Shahukar, VJ: "I tend to lose my way often when I am travelling abroad as unlike India it's quite possible to walk miles in a foreign country and not find a single soul to guide you the way; so my must carry gadget is a GPS system. I remember I was in  Turkey and I sat in bus and fell asleep. When I woke up and got down I was in an unknown place with no idea how to find my way. I had a map in my pocket and tried finding where I was. This served as a learning experience and now I carry a GPS always as it helps me locate my way and also helps me find out everything from a cafeteria to a tourist site through its navigation system. I recommend it to all travelers to ensure that precious time is not wasted trying to find ways.

Ranvijay Singh, VJ: "I carry portable speakers with me during my travel. This way I ensure that even if I am not in a club the party for me continues. My boosters also keep me away from boredom. I also travel with my i Phone-4 and it helps me connected to the world in every sense. I can click pictures, record videos and most importantly I can connect my portable speakers to have my own partyThese tiny yet chic looking speakers can literally fit into your pocket and work wonders, when you would want to listen to some music."

Mehar Bhasin,  Grooming expert: "My smart phone serves as the smartest gadget for me during my travel. I believe that one should travel very light. One phone with the internet and international call facility is more then enough and shall serve the purpose. You can click pictures and update them immediately for your friends to see across the globe. They also have the facility to connect through all the messengers, you could chat with your loved ones anytime you want to."
