Whenever one reads or listens to someone, mostly a guru, that one must create one’s own world, one gets a sense of thrill and a reassurance that it is in our own hands  to shape and reshape our destiny and future.

The implication is that you are your own master; and that you can do whatever you want to do with your life. Of course, it may not be that easy; one has to act and follow rigorously, keeping one’s destination clearly in sight. The world you aspire for would take shape slowly and steadily but surely.

One has to be a man/woman of conviction and steely resolution. One has to follow the dictum of sages that nothing works as good as hard work with common sense.

Pandit Shriram Sharma Acharya says it is up to you to create the world of your own choice. In this world, good and bad things, virtues and vices, morality and immorality exist everywhere. Your world will depend on your choice of the direction and efforts you make.

As Virgil had said only those can conquer who believe they can. Once you gain the belief and the will to conquer, act on these words of Thoreau, “Aim above morality. Be not simply good. Be good for something.”

The message: It’s good to be good but better to be useful. Each morning when one gets up, a few moments must be spent in reflecting what good things one is going to do during the day so that the world one lives in is a better one by the time one goes to bed. Mind you, that is one way to get a good night of perfect sleep as well so that you can get up the next morning with the resolve to repeat your good acts.

Imagine the number of good acts you would have done in a lifetime. You would have spent a lifetime in doing things that would make you wonder at your own achievements. What’s life for but for such objectives? A life of sacrifice is a life of fulfillment.

And the world will be proudly yours!
