All of us can attest to one thing in life: Whatever life throws at us, we have no choice but to dodge our way through. So why give in so easily? The pain that has proven to be so unbearable at times that we’ve often found ourselves at the mercy of the truth in order to save ourselves.
And still we go about our daily life the same way, like nothing ever happened. Why do we put those masks on and how long do we plan to keep up with this act?
Humans are perhaps the only species with an exceptional emotional intelligence and yet we choose to look away — all the while hiding our pain. Why do we fail to help the ones we love the most? We choose to act oblivious to others’ pain and assume that they’d get by. Why don’t we just offer our help instead?
When was the last time you asked an old friend why he was acting the way he was? Or kissed your mother good night? Cooked for your grandmother? Hugged your dog with all the love in you? Or told yourself how much you loved yourself?
Take a deep breath, and tell yourself it’s going to be okay. Because ultimately, it is love and redemption that is going to save us and free us of our miseries — provided we give this a chance. It’s true that life throws a billion rocks at us.
So fall, and hurt, and cry and lose yourself so utterly till there’ s nothing left but the truth of your existence. And in that blinding darkness, and a midst that immense pain, you’ll find yourself: Fearless, unscathed.
