Why the hell are you dancing?!

Why? Is there now a law against dancing?

Well, it’s highly improper to dance near the samadhi of Mahatma Gandhi in Rajghat.

Why?

Er, because he’s the Father of the Nation and we should show him respect.

I’m not dancing on his samadhi but near it. I don’t think Bapu would have minded.

It doesn’t matter what Bapu would have thought. It’s just improper! Especially when you’re smiling as you dance.

Will a long face make things better?

No. You just can’t show any signs of joy and happiness at a sacred memorial.

Please don’t tell me that by dancing here I have not only insulted Gandhiji, all the freedom fighters and the entire nation but also the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts.

Er, yes. Come to think of it, yes, you have!

And insulted the song ‘Bhaag DK Bose’, the number I was dancing to, right?

Absolutely!

[He makes a dance move] So what are you going to do about it, eh?

Oh, I immediately demand an apology!

Sorry, no can do.

Well, I have no alternative but to impose Section 144 here at Rajghat.

Do say: Naach, Basanti, naach!

Don’t say: Let’s have a dance party!
