Police on Friday claimed to have busted a betting racket in the city following the arrest of ten persons in two separate raids.
Acting on a tip-off, crime branch officials raided a hotel located on Bhupendra road here and arrested six persons last night.
Two laptops, 16 mobile phones, two recording machines and Rs 69,400 cash was seized from the spot, police said.
In another raid carried out last night by Gandhigram police at a house in Avanti Park, four persons were arrested while valuables like Rs 10,900 cash, colour TV, a laptop and 18 mobiles worth of over Rs one lakh were seized, they said.
All the arrested accused allegedly received bets on the ongoing Test match being played between England and Australia at Lords on their mobile phones, police said.
