Four persons were arrested after the Mohali IPL match, the IPL Mohali franchise, the local police and TicketPro together "discovered and exposed an illegal ticket selling racket".
"Some of the suspects, who have been arrested by Mohali police, were caught selling tickets of Mohali home matches in black," Mohali IPL team CEO Neil Maxwell told reporters in Mohali on Thursday evening.
He said footage of video surveillance installed at various gates had picked up lot of evidence and the culprits had been identified with its help. "Video footage is being reviewed and already further suspects have been identified. These people will be handed over to police very soon," he said.
He said TicketPro, together with the Mohali IPL team and the Punjab Cricket Association, has put into place additional security measures regarding sale of tickets of home matches. "Every gate will now be scrutinised by hi-tech video surveillance cameras," he said.
Maxwell said that IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi had been informed about the incident. "Mr Modi told us that any form of black market ticketing will not be tolerated and the IPL in conjunction with the franchise will prosecute anyone associated with such practice to the full extent of the law," he said.
