Local media reports that Cricket Australia has fired national coach Mickey Arthur only two weeks from the start of its Ashes series against England.

The Melbourne Age newspaper reports South African-born Arthur, who is contracted to coach Australia through the 2015 World Cup, was informed of the decision at the weekend.

The report says Cricket Australia will hold a news conference in Bristol, England on Monday when chief executive James Sutherland is expected to announce a new coaching structure.
The Age said former test batsman Darren Lehmann, who is in England and has coached Australia A, is favored as Arthur's successor.
