With the participation of Pakistan's domestic Twenty20 champions Faisalabad Wolves still hanging in balance, Champions League T20 organisers on Monday again postponed the announcement of the teams.
The squads, both for the qualifying and main rounds, were supposed to be announced on Tuesday, but it has now been deferred for one more week.
"We received a mail today saying that the announcement has been deferred till early next week. The reason stated in the mail was that a few franchisees have still not finalised their squads," a franchise official said.
A BCCI official when contacted said the extension was aimed at giving some time to teams to reach a consensus on players who have been playing for more than one side. Sri Lanka Cricket has already expressed its wish to convince Kumar Sangakkara to play for Kandurata Maroons instead of Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Tension on the border has put a question mark on the Wolves' participation. The BCCI confirmed that the visa process for Pakistan players has been put on hold in the wake of border tension.
