“Beware of Yusuf Pathan,” must be a common refrain amongst bowlers in every opposition camp in the IPL. “Yusuf single-handedly snapped his team’s unbeaten streak,” said Delhi Daredevils skipper Virender Sehwag, admitting that the Rajasthan Royals’ all-rounder simply blew his side away with his blazing knock.
But Sehwag is not complaining. “No, you can’t complain about that. Yes, we dropped a couple of catches and it proved costly. But when a batsman is in such a mood you can’t do anything. He came in and just thrashed the bowling attack, especially I wasn’t expecting Vettori to go for so many runs.” Did Sehwag’s men forget the adage: “Catches win matches?”
