AP police have written to the home ministry saying it won't be possible to provide security during elections in the state. Two other states, Delhi and Maharashtra are yet to reply about the security arrangements.

Modi, who had on Tuesday refrained from giving out the final schedule of the IPL saying that it was still being "fine tuned", will now have to pull a rabbit out of his hat to ensure the tournament goes ahead as per plan.

The second edition of the IPL is scheduled to be held from April 10 to May 24.
