Kolkata Knight Riders could be in for trouble after explosive batsman David Hussey revealed he could follow Ricky Ponting’s path and stay away from the second edition of the Indian Premier League.

Hussey, yet to play in Tests, is hoping to make the Australia side for the one-dayers against South Africa and Pakistan and is also keeping his fingers crossed for the Ashes series. That is the reason he is having second thoughts about playing in the IPL.

Ponting, another Knight Riders player, pulled out of this season’s IPL citing hectic international commitments.

“I’m sort of hoping to be playing in the one-dayers against South Africa and against Pakistan. Maybe a two-week window in the IPL, I’m not really sure at the moment. I have to see how the body is holding up,” he was quoted as saying in website ‘Sportal´.

Hussey said he is desperately hoping to make the Ashes side and is looking forward to final three matches of the Sheffield Shield to stake his claim for a Test berth.
