Delhi, as expected, thrashed a weak Jammu & Kashmir side by 125 runs at the Ferozeshah Kotla here on Monday. With this they opened their account with a bonus point in the first ODI of the North Zone leg in Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Though J&K won a good toss and opted to field in a bowler-friendly condition, the Delhi's competitive total of 245 proved too much for them.

It was opener Unmukt Chand and debutant Mohit Sharma, who not only consolidated the innings after the early loss of Shikhar Dhawan but also scored at a quick pace. Former skipper Mithun Manhas also contributed with 41

In reply, apart from skipper Hardeep Singh's 40, J&K lacked the stomach for fight and was bundled out for 120. Pacer Parwinder Awana and Rajat Bhatia scalped three each.

Brief Scores: Delhi 245, 49.4 overs (Chand 46; Beigh 3-52) bt J&K 120, 41.1 overs (Hardeep 40; Awana 3-23, Bhatia 3-17)
