India’s cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was shocked to receive another extortion letter on New Year’s Eve. The letter, from notorious criminal Taslim, threatened to blow up his house at Mecon Colony unless he paid Rs 50 lakh.

The situation turned serious with the arrival of another threat letter on Wednesday.

A team has been formed under Hatia assistant superintendent of police A. Vijyalaxmi to probe the matter.

Inspector general of police S.N. Pradhan said Dhoni has been provided with security at par with Z Category. Provisions had been made to provide additional security, when required, said Pradhan.
