BCCI opposes ICC’s fresh DRS plan
NEW DELHI: The BCCI is on a fresh confrontation course with the International Cricket Council over the Decision Review System (DRS). After rejecting the Hotspot and the ball-tracking technologies as inconclusive, the BCCI rejected the ICC Chief Executives Committee's recommendation to its Board on Friday that DRS must be made mandatory for Tests and ODIs.
The ICC says fresh research has confirmed the technologies are reliable but BCCI says they are not and the decision to use DRS in bilateral series should be up to the national boards. The ICC Board will discuss the issue on Tuesday and Wednesday.
