Indian batsman Rahul Dravid's wife Vijeta gave birth to a son in Bangalore on Monday afternoon.
Dravid, who was playing for Bangalore Royal Challengers in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in South Africa, came back to be with his wife at the time of delivery of the couple's second son.
The former India captain, who has been in good form in the Twenty20 tournament, had informed the team management beforehand that he will not be available for the entire tournament.
Royal Challengers team owner Vijay Mallya had stated this reason while replacing Dravid with Kevin Pietersen as captain.
Pietersen, too, is available only till Wednesday as he flies back to England for the series against the West Indies.
South African Jacques Kallis will be handling the captaincy after Pietersen.
