The England cricket team will arrive in Chennai in two batches tonight for a two match series after the ECB cleared the tour from all security considerations.

Secretary of Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) Kasi Vishwanathan told PTI that the team will be reaching here tonight in two batches to play the first match commencing here from December 11.

After raising security concerns and the later developments following the Mumbai terror attacks, England Cricket Board officials including its Managing Director ECB Hugh Morris and President Players' Association Shaun Morris held a series of meeting with top officials of Tamil Nadu police and the BCCI and TNCA officials alongwith security chief Reg Dickason during last a week.

England are scheduled to play two Test matches -- in Chennai (December 11-15) and Mohali (December 19-23) -- during their tour. The ODI series was earlier called off with two matches remaining because of Mumbai terror attacks.
