Pacer R Vinay Kumar ran through the New Zealand 'A' middle-order grabbing four wickets as India recorded a nine-wicket victory in the Emerging Players' Meet at the Endeavour Ground in Townsville on Monday.

Vinay, who has retained his place in the India ODI squad for the tour of England, had figures of four for 33 as New Zealand were dismissed for 239 in their second essay after India enforced a follow-on on Sunday.

That left India with a paltry target of 108 to chase. New Zealand had scored 272 in the first innings after India scored 404 courtesy Manoj Tiwary's magnificent 188.

Courtesy Ajinkya Rahane (45*) and wicketkeeper- batsman Chandrasekhar Gautham (44*), Indians knocked off the required runs in 17.3 overs. Indians now have nine points from two matches while New Zealand were docked three negative points for their defeat.
