Softening their stand on the Wankhede stadium, which has been in the news for flouting fire safety norms, fire brigade officials on Monday said that the issue would be resolved within two days or so. Claiming that the irregularities were not of a very serious nature, a senior fire official, not wishing to be named, said that the compliance of fire safety norms wouldn’t take much time.
“The Wankhede stadium had been issued an Occupation Certificate (OC) few years ago. Hence, there’s no question of withholding its OC. The fire brigade has to simply check whether the alterations in the stadium are in-sync with existing fire safety norms and issue an NoC,” said chief fire officer (CFO) Uday Tatkare
