Flying with Team India not always a joyride

The prospect of travelling with the India team might sound exciting, but it's not exactly a joy ride. Especially, when the entire airport security and airline officials converge on the man with the newest record in ODI cricket - Rohit Sharma.

The wait to board the flight is longer, and the last-minute flurry to take pictures and autographs means even the passengers are reluctant to hasten the boarding process.

Compared to regular flights where everyone tends to settle down quickly, this one seemed like you had entered a school bus. On the left was this energetic bunch in blue, led by Virat Kohli, who never seemed to stop making a point. On the right, were seated the other lot, also in blue, silent.

Finding the seat is another problem. Bulk bookings don't always ensure the squad sits together. But don't thank your stars if your seat is next to an India fast bowler.

Always guarded, the support staff make sure all players are accompanied by teammates or BCCI officials. What do you get in exchange? More leg space at one of those premium seats next to the emergency exit.

There would be less luck though when it comes to on-board refreshments. While Virat settled for what looked like a box of cookies brought along by a support staff member, most players opted for beverages.
