Highlight Story

India opener Gautam Gambhir has been ruled out of first two limited-overs internationals against South Africa due to a groin injury

Gambhir has been troubled by the injury for some time and the Indian selection committee headed by Krishnamachari Srikkanth on Wednesday decided he should be rested.

Spin bowler Harbhajan Singh and paceman Yuvraj Singh are also unavailable for the first two one-dayers, to be held on Feb 21 and 24. The third and final match will be held on Feb 27. Harbhajan will sit out the matches so he can attend his sister's wedding, while Singh is still nursing a hand injury he sustained during India's tour of Bangladesh in January.

Allrounder Yusuf Pathan returns to the squad along with paceman Praveen Kumar.

India squad: Mahendra Singh Dhoni (Captain), Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Suresh Raina, Virat Kohli, Dinesh Karthik, Yusuf Pathan, Ravinder Jadeja, Abhisek Nayar, Amit Mishra, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ashish Nehra, Zaheer Khan, Praveen Kumar and Sudeep Tyagi.
